Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds made a rare TV appearance together on Saturday Night Live over the weekend when they popped up in host Melissa Mccarthy's opening skit.
The Ghostbusters star picked a mom, called Joan, from the studio audience and treated her to a hurried Mother's Day eve tour backstage, during which they bumped into the Hollywood couple, music act Haim, guest Alec Baldwin and cast members.
Thrilled Joan picked up a hat, foot cream and a bottle of ketchup during her fast paced tour and then got to announce the start of the show with Melissa, who reprised her take on much-maligned White House press secretary Sean Spicer for a sketch in which she locked lips with the show's resident President Donald Trump, Baldwin.
At the end of her latest hosting stint on SNL, she was saluted by funnyman Steve Martin as the newest member of the Five-Timers Club – the exclusive group of celebrities who have hosted the weekly show at least five times – and handed a smoking jacket to mark the occasion.
Other members of the club include Baldwin, who has hosted a record 17 times, Tom Hanks, Elliott Gould, Danny DeVito, John Goodman, Christopher Walken, Drew Barrymore, Justin Timberlake, Ben Affleck (2013), Scarlett Johansson, and Dwayne Johnson, who will host the current season's finale next week.
