Chris Guerra, a 29-year-old photographer, was killed after being struck by a car while chasing Justin Bieber's $200,000 Ferrari California. According to sources who spoke to Guerra earlier in the day, he believed he was on the cusp of a huge story, after claiming he saw Bieber smoking out of a marijuana pipe in his car.
The source recounted his conversation with Guerra, saying "Man, you won't believe my luck. It's pretty dead in L.A.. Everybody thinks Justin and Selena are in Mexico, but they're not."
Guerra was en route to Four Seasons, following the white sports car, when the vehicle was pulled over for speeding on the 405. TMZ revealed that Guerra got out of his car to take photos of who he thought was Justin Bieber in the driver's seat. Police told the photog twice to back away from the car and cross to the other side of the street. When Guerra tried to cross back over he was struck by an oncoming vehicle and killed on impact.
Lil Twist, Lil Wayne's protege, was actually behind the wheel of Justin's car, and the teen superstar was not even in the vehicle. Twist and Justin were hanging out at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills earlier on Tuesday, and for some unknown reason he left in Bieber's ride.
Justin's rep sent out a statement following the accident, saying "It's really sad that people are trying to push a story without the facts so soon after this tragic accident. Justin was not present or involved in this incident and the focus should remain on honoring the memory of the victim."
