"Modern Family" Teen's Mother Accused of Abuse

Ariel Winter, the 14-year-old star of ABC's "Modern Family," was taken out of her home by a judge after her mother, Chris Workman, was accused of physical and mental abuse. A judge declared that the abuse was so serious that Ariel would have to go and live with her sister, Shanell Workman, until a court hearing on November 20th. Chris has been ordered to stay 100 yards away from Ariel at all times.
TMZ revealed that Shanell is claiming that she suffered the same abuse by her mother, and was sent to a foster home nearly two decades ago. She never returned to Chris' care, and has since moved on with her life.
