After a successful three seasons together it seems that Christina Aguilera and Cee-Lo are stepping down from their judges seats on "The Voice." NBC announced the decision today, and revealed that Usher and Shakira will step in for the fourth season.
Christina is taking time off from the talent show to embark on a worldwide tour to promote her new album, "Lotus." Cee-Lo is said to be working on new music himself, while also developing a scripted comedy for NBC based on his real life. Fellow coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are expected return as judges for the fourth season, but NBC has yet to confirm their involvement.
Christina spoke on her decision, saying "As I have expressed since Day One of the show ... I am a singer and performer first and I am so excited to get back to that love." She also expressed enthusiasm for returning in the future.
"By pursuing my first passion of music during the break, I am also able to come back and offer even more to my team on 'The Voice' in the future."
Cee-Lo confirmed that he would be coming back for season 5 of the show, but was willing to share his seat with Shakira and Usher.
"I will return for season five and will be watching season four. NBC is home and as far as Usher and Shakira are concerned -- 'mi casa su casa.'"
