Vanessa Hudgens is shedding her "Highschool Musical" image, as she is set to star in "The Frozen Ground," playing Cindy Paulson, a stripper who escapes the clutches of a serial killer. The movie is based on the real story of Alaska's most notorious serial killer, Robert Hansen.
Paulson's story helped police capture Hansen, who was accused of killing 17 to 21 young girls in a killing spree. She was 17 when Hansen tried to load her up in his Piper Super Cub plane in June 1983, but she narrowly escaped.
The movie is set for a December release, where Vanessa will star alongside John Cusak, who will play Hansen, and Nicolas Cage as Detective Glenn Flothe, the man who finally took the young woman's statement seriously.
