The cast of the hotly anticipated third installment of the Batman trilogy, "The Dark Knight Rises," settled in Gotham nicely for the world premiere. Actors Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Morgan Freeman and more gathered at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater, each looking more beautifully dressed than the next.
Batman himself, Christian Bale, spoke to E! News about his departure from the franchise, saying "Yeah, it's bittersweet, but I think though that Chris is such a good storyteller, if he says it's the right time to finish, it's the right time to finish. It's nice to leave when we're out on top instead of leaving people wanting less."
Bale also revealed to NY Daily News that he wasn't apprehensive about watching himself on the big screen.
“I hope I can sit back and enjoy it like a fan. I always say this is the last time I watch a movie that I am in, but you’re working with so many people, so I sort of feel disrespectful not to see what everyone does.”
Judging by the stellar reviews it would be disrespectful not to see "The Dark Knight Rises," which hits theatres on July 20th.
