You can't go anywhere without seeing an ad for Tom Cruise's new movie, Rock of Ages, but it seems that didn't persuade fans to run out and see the movie.
His movies had made over $3 billion dollars total and they average an astonishing $96 million, but Rock of Ages raked in a paltry $15.1 million over the weekend. This compared to Tom's previous no.1 flop, Knight & Day, which grossed $20.1 million its opening weekend.
This role was a stretch for Tom, who is known for his roles in action movies, but it doesn't look like it will hurt his career. He was recently spotted shooting scenes for his upcoming sci-fi thriller "Oblivion" in New York.
