Ruben Studdard has his iron-clad pre-nup to thanks for his clean and easy divorce from his ex-wife, Surata Zuri McCants, who didn't get the judgement she was looking for in the split.
When Ruben first filed for divorce in November Surata tried to get the prenup nullified after she claims that Ruben blindsided her with the documents just days before the wedding. Thankfully for Ruben the judge wasn't buying any of it and upheld the prenup in the case, leaving her with nearly nothing.
The final judgement was in Ruben's favor, as he was not ordered to pay any kind of spousal support or alimony, and he gets to keep all of his possessions, including his home, cash, pensions, jewelry, royalties and clothing.
Surata got shafted in the split, as she was awarded her wedding dress, wedding photos, a 2006 BMW, 10K property settlement and 2k for attorneys. She was also ordered to give her wedding ring back to Ruben in the divorce.
Ouch.
