It was a good night for the Obama campaign as Russell Simmons, spiritualist Deepak Chopra and ABC Carpet & Homes CEO Paullete Cole helped President Barack Obama raise $5 million for his re-election campaign -- the most Obama has raised thus far.
Obama stopped by Jean-Georges Vongerichten's Locavore eatery ABC Kitchen in the Flatiron District of NYC for a fundraising dinner, then spoke at a gala held at ABC Carpet & Home, hosted by Simmons and Chopra.
Comedian Aziz Ansari hosted the Carpet & Home gig, while the Roots crew rocked it on stage alongside Ben Folds and Ingrid Michaelson.
In all, the Obama campaign brought in a little over $5 million during its fundraising trip to the Big Apple.
