Yesterday, February 28th. 2012, Nicollette Sheridan, made her way to court in Downtown Los Angeles to engage the creator of ABC's Desperate Housewives, Marc Cherry, in a $4 million dollar lawsuit.
Sheridan was one of the original cast members on the show, but was killed off of the series in 2009, when her character's car hit an electrical pole. She is suing Marc Cherry for $4m in damages and wrongful dismissal. The $4m would cover about one season's pay.
The 48 year old British-born star has made claims that she was wrongfully fired from the show after she spoke up about Marc Cherry allegedly assaulting her during rehearsals. She originally tried suing for $20 million, making claims against Mr. Cherry for wrongful termination, sexual harassment, emotional distress, as well as assault and battery. During a pre-trial the judge only allowed her to sue for wrongful termination and battery claims and limited her financial suit to $4m.
Ms. Sheridan has accused Marc Cherry of slapping her across the face during an on-set disagreement over the script. Shortly after the altercation, her character was killed off.
