Akon Sued By Southern Electric Company For Big Money

What's with these celebrities and failing to pay their bills these days?

The latest star to fall under financial heat is singer, songwriter, and music producer Akon.  According to TMZ, Akon owes a hefty amount of money to the Southern Electric contracting company for work done on his mansion in Georgia. 

Akon owes $51,941 to be exact.  The contracting company filed a lawsuit against Akon in the Georgia Superior Court, claiming they performed more than $344,000 worth of work on Akon's mansion, but have yet to be paid their final payment.  They're claiming that Akon has simply refused to pay them for some reason. 

Akon's mother played the role of his agent during the deal with Southern Electric last November, and she has been contacted by them.  Still no payment has been made.

The mansion in question was apparently bought for $1.6 million. 

Let's see what type of logical explanation Akon can come up with for not making his payments in a timely fashion.
