Michael Jackson's estate egnited a legal war with Jackson's former manager, Tohme Tohme, claiming he got the legendary pop singer to sign agreements that earned him a fortune for doing nothing. Michael fired Tohme 3 months before his passing.
Howard Weitzman, the attorney for the Jackson estate, claims Tohme got Michael to sign papers allowing him to receive $35,000 per month as a flat fee for not doing any work at all. On top of that Tohme got Michael to agree to forking over 15% of whatever he made.
Tohme dug deeper into Michael's finances by getting him to pay Tohme $2.4 million for just introducing him to a lender who refinanced his Neverland Ranch. Tohme was also promised 10% of the profits from the sale of Neverland Ranch. Tohme was also entitled to $100,000 per month from his "This is It" tour.
Estate lawyers are already anticipating a lawsuit by Tohme against them for the money Tohme claims he's owed, and the Estate wants to shut him down before a suit is filed. The estate is also seeking damages in the case.
