Don Cornelius' Ex-Wife Could Get $300K from Life Insurance

Soul Train creator Don Cornelius' death stunned the world, and it seems that he was recovering from a tumultuous and brutal breakup with his ex-wife Viktoria around the time of his death. Don revealed in legal documents obtained by TMZ that: "I am 72 years old. I have significant health issues. I want to finalize this divorce before I die."
The divorce was finalized in 2009, but it seems that in a settlement agreement Viktoria was named beneficiary of Don's life insurance policies. The two policies combined totaled around $300,000.
California law states that if the policy holder commits suicide within two years of the policy being issued, then the company can deny payment. However, two years had passed since the policy was issued to Viktoria, so she stands to inherit the money.
