Clothing company Benetton chose to pull their ads featuring President Obama kissing Chinese and Venezuelan leaders smack on the lips.
The White House sent out a statement concerning the ads, saying "The White House has a longstanding policy disapproving of the use of the president's name and likeness for commercial purposes."
The ads were revealed on Wednesday, and also featured Pope Benedict XVI kissing Egypt's Ahmed el-Tayyeb, a leading imam.
According to Benetton, the ad campaign as meant "solely to battle the culture of hate in all its forms."
